I thought of sharing some of my views regarding this hot Topic : "Jan Lokpal and Civil society's role". What Anna Hazare is doing is a selfless act and his intentions are perfectly fine to end corruption. But I disagree with the formation of Joint committee for making this bill because I have some strong apprehensions about this process in future.
A work of making the laws is in the hands of parliament which is enshrined in our sacred constitution. We elect them and now we don't have faith in them. What Anna Hazare pointed out is a widely accepted fact that most of the politicians are corrupt and he has no faith in them in the formulation of bill. His argument is perfectly valid about the corruption but then I strongly believe that civil society should not have role in the formulation of this bill though the bill is diluted by the government.
Reasons:
1) Law making which is enshrined in our constitution is with the parliament, this process will undermine so called our constitution because of which India is surviving.
2) Once the process of forming a joint committee is started, in future NGOs and the people with wrong intentions just for political mileage will black mail the elected govt to become the part of committee for every bill. Though everyone demands govt. should be transparent but administration can't be run without secrecy. Involvement of civil society in every thing will definitely slow down the administration because of policy of obstruction and non cooperation by both the parties - civil society and Govt.
3) Running the administration is a non trivial job, So by this kind of activity we are actually making this administration more difficult because now the officers will be sacred to work and take decisions effectively though he is honest because every decisions taken by him will be highly scrutinized by civil society. You must be aware that 2/3 of the cases pending in our courts are because of govt. inability to decide on issue matters.
4) The members who are selected from the civil society don't have mandate of the people except Anna Hazare. These members though they are from solid law background are chosen by Anna Hazare himself. One of the member is ex-Union minister of Law which contradicts the Anna's statement that he has no faith in Politicians. Any ways the people who are heading this committee are politicians only.
5) Yesterday's Anna statement about Modi and Nitish was the political statement which is not digested by his own supporters who threatened him that they will take back their support , if he won't back off from this statement . Baba Ramdev who is associated with this movement has political Lineage towards BJP because his org. had donated 11 lakhs to BJP for the party fund.
6) Lets suppose this bill will be enacted, who can give the guarantee that the Lokpal of India will be a man of impeccable integrity, no one. Because all constitutional appointments are political in nature, Govt. definitely won't make the strong person to chair this. And if the lokpal is elected by people then again the element of politics will be involved which in turn damage the foundation of this so called Lokpal institution. This institution has great possibility of misuse.
I don't want to make you skeptical about Anna and his intentions but one thing is true fact that every person has political mindset and you can't detach this from a human being.
We say politicians are corrupt but this reflects only one thing to me- "Common man of India is corrupt". Very simple to explain : Politician starts corruption for winning the mandate of the people. Many of us don't vote which is also a corruption and those who vote, they are bought by spending crores. Who involves in these spendings - So called ethical and efficient Corporate world, big Industrialists ,NRIs and countries like USA , EU etc. If common man of India stops accepting these kind of favors then surely no politician will tend to do corruption.
In India , govt is not "for the people, by the people , of the people " but it is "far the people, buy the people , off the people " and common man owes big responsibility for this.
For me, the main causes of corruption are not Politicians and bureaucracy but they are poverty and illiteracy.
What we can do as a civil society :
1) Fight for right to recall in this country through PIL or through legislative intervention. Right to recall means representatives like MPs and MLA should be recalled by the people if they don't work for the people. Madhya Pradesh is the only state where this instrument is used for Panchayat Raj Institutions. We have to fight for extending it to all level.
2) Fight for making vote a compulsory exercise for every citizen
3) Fight for the effective use of Article 49-O which gives right to abstain in voting.
4) Fight for the Police reforms, To end the nexus between police and Politicians which will automatically reduce corruption.
5) Fight for asking our common rights - right to have road, electricity, quality water, house etc. Irony is no one does An-san for these causes, they do for state's bifurcation and other political motives.
6) Spreading awareness about the right candidates among poor because they are one who are easily fooled.
7) Most important is the to change the attitude of ourselves like don't bribe a police man if you are at mistake, pay the fine and learn not to repeat the mistake; no to bribe at govt offices, let your work will be delayed; use of RTI more and more; effective use of consumer forum etc.
Lokpal institution will automatically be the fruit once if we clear the roots of corruption at common man level and sow the seeds of "No to corruption".
I am not here to teach anyone, I also don't follow all the things which I have mentioned but I have strong belief in them and some where we have to start.

Undivided India
This concept was existed for eleven hundred years in this part of world which had gone to its zenith during the time of Akbar and some mughal emperors who came in India as a robbers but finally made her their mother land. Undivided India doesn't mean the combined India , Bangladesh and Pakistan but it means the undivided fabric of various religions which was so well knitten by our ancestors that it lasted so long. Every civilization has a beginning and an end. We had also witnessed the same on 15th August 1947. Gandhi did not celebrate this day as a festival rather he mourned this day by keeping 24 hrs fast.
I some time think that really the independence we have achieved at the cost of partition was worthful? We have both the opinions existed. If I put myself back on the days of struggle , If I place myself in position supporting partition , I would be called a fanatic since the basis for partition was religion, but if I oppose I would be called as a nationalist in India. But my image will be reversed for same stance in Pakistan. So answer is inconclusive whether I am a nationalist or fanatic?
Why partition happened? Whether it could be avoided ? Most of the historians based on the series of incidents have a unanimous understanding that it was inevitable. True, it was started with the acceptance of separate electorate by Congress which I term as a biggest mistake , Congress has ever done. Then the wrong approach of our leaders which made fanatical tendencies more imbibed into our society. Congress leaders had failed to bring muslim leaders into the main stream.
Question is why Mughal empire ruled for nearly 400 years in Hindu state ? Very simple answer, they were compassionate and tolerant towards other religions. There courts had equal representation from all sects. Akbar's most close confidants were Hindus. But when Aurangzeb started becoming intolerant, the Mughal empire came nearly to an end. After Aurangzeb, all Mughal rulers were powerless , they just remained the symbol of United Hindustan.
So why our leaders didn't learn from the past mistakes. There lied the ego of Nehru , Patel and other leaders from Congress on one hand and Jinnah and others on other. Gandhi wanted Congress to shed off their ego by giving all premier posts to Jinnah, but at that time Gandhi was almost unheard in the political circles of India. We were the victims of our leaders that means we had victimsed our self, since we had chosen our leaders. We forgot Gandhi , we forgot the legacy of last thousand years in one stroke. Don't think I am a follower of Gandhi but I like few things about him.
We and our leaders thought that we have achieved the peace but where is peace? Last 60 years of existence had N no. of riots, 4 wars and more and deeply growing hatred among us resulted in nothing but wastage of our huge resources in terms of defence. We always blame britishers for our poor destiny but I feel we had written our poor destiny. We always claim we were looted by britishers upto certain extent yes but we are looting our selves from last 60 years whose cost is much more. Both the sides have grim conditions of people. Nearly 40% in below poverty line in both the sides. Poor have a fear of food and rich has a fear of vulnerability. And this fear is growing as time is passing us. How can we end this ? Answer is there but it needs strong will of the people and its leader. I again say A STRONG WILL.
Can't we think off what happened in Germany ? Reunification. They achieved that not because of
some treaty between alies power and USSR but because of the strong will of their people. They get to understand so quickly (only 45 years) that united we stand, divided we collapse.
Just Imagine that how would have been our economies if were united , how would have been our cricket or hockey teams if we were united? How would have been Kashmir , the heaven that we made hell , if we were united? how often you visited to have taste of delicies of Lahore and for them Delhi? And their are many questions you can think off.
For me answers to all such questions give a very pleasent feeling if I Imagine we would have been undivided. But truth is we are divided. Can't we show to the world our Strong Will. Yes, we can. Some one has to take initiative . Yes , I take.
I pray to God that give us vision to think and make our will so strong that we achieve our Undivided Bharat , Hindustan. Before I die, want to see our Old Bharat. Nothing is impossible that I believe.
Btway those who have misconception about Hindu, Hindus are those people who live on the east bank of river Indus (Hind river). This term was given to us by Afghans and persians. So if you feel Hindu word gives a religious perspective. Call yourself Hindis or Bharatis like we call chinese , chini if you don't like to call yourself Hindu.

Why Regret ?
Should I regret about something ? , this question I ask several times to myself but most of the times I manage it to convince myself that man you are right , it's your life, you can do anything whatever you want, you can change your habits as per your surrounding , eveybody does that why don't you ? You are not an ethics god, you are just a simple person. Nothing is eternal to you. But at the end it says don't harm anyone if that is fine you can do anything what you want.
Lots of question come in my mind hitting like the bullets. I always try to shield myself at any cost. Today I have lost that shield. I am not in a position to convince myself that why shouldn't I regret. Experiment with truth which everyone wants to do in their life din't convince me today. I was asking me a question why did you experiment with those things which you know that is not good for you, you so called ethics doesn't match with it. But today I deeply carried away by my half consicious foolish mind. The principles for which i always used to fight, I myself have broken that. I am really ashamed of myself. I am in very rudderless situation now. Nothing can convince me right now. I have a deep remorse about my actions today. I am not blaming anyone for this. Now at this age I know what is good what is bad ? Why do we mostly learn after doing mistakes ? Aren't such abberations avoidable?
Today the only thing which giving me bit sense of relief is my relationships which i have in form of parents, friends and close relatives. I know they won't abandon me for my mistakes. They might tease me , they might scold me but they finally they understand me.
Pardon me.
I have a question why do we always try to expand our limits according to our wish, choice and preference without thinking of repurcussions. I don't have a answer for it, you might help me in finding that.

Khush raho yaar
Yesterday, some one who was very close to me had left insti forever. His smile which always made me happy got imprinted into my mind. I can't forget yesterday in my life. I had controlled myself till the end and decided, I will not cry when he leaves. But finally his hug broke me down for few seconds. It was the sense of some possession which u like most, you had for 5 years with you suddenly leaving you today.
His words while leaving "Bhai, Khush raho yaar" still echoing into my ears.
His SMS from train finally gave me some sense of relief that "Dost phir milenge jaldi for fikarnot".
AMEN.
God bless you bhai. Will meet soon :) .

Do you expect or hope?
This blog is the eventuality of something happened with me last week.Question was asked why do you expect? I didn't have the answer but I realized later why shouldn't I expect?
I believe that Expectation and hope both are same but earlier is considered to be a devil and later as an angel made by us.But why do we have such bias? Our inner sense always talks about expectation but outwardly we always pretend to hope.
I would ask some question to all rational human beings including me.
1)Do you expect your wife should be faithful to you or you just hope?
2)Do you expect your child should be disciplined or you just hope?
3)Do you expect your colleagues and your team should be honest to you or you just hope?
4)Do you expect your child will provide you all assistance during your old age or you hope?
5)Do you expect your true friend always help in need, must concern about you or you hope?
For me the answer to all above questions and lot more which are part of our life is I should expect not hope.
Why should I not say I expect myself to be topper of the class instead of using hope? This seems to be an arrogant instead of humbleness.
Why shouldn't I say I hope I will get a U in that course instead of using expect? One word can make you an honest to fool though both are same.
We believe those who always hope are optimists and those who expects are pessimist because we always use that word when you have fear of some thing is going to happen bad or low, but all goes well we suddenly change our view that" I hope and I get". We pretend.
All relationships existing on this earth are unexplained, unwritten agreements which has its own implicit terms and conditions. All agreements are bound to have expectations. Expectations can be mild or strong. If mild expectations are shattered , a person can ignore but when strong are broken it leads to pain and frustration. But I say these things happen because we keep ignoring expressing our expectations . We must express but at the same time your opposite must understand and take in positive sense and must address your expectations and also give remedy to your grievances. One should not ignore by saying "He/she expects a lot" instead tell him/her this is my limit up to which I can address.
I believe we should have expectations but always below a level your opposite can tolerate. Some people give gender bias to expectations saying these expectations are of "Female Category " . Stop this bull shit gender reservation!! This is true that female expects a lot but why they do no one try to understand that they care and concern a lot to whom they love, which male can't do. We male must appreciate that thing and also learn.
I want your honest opinion on this and a healthy criticism.
Do expect for the things which are legitimate and bring you happiness and do hope for those things which can increase your present happiness now or in future.
Stop feeling wrong about those who express their expectations because they express to those whom they feel close to them.
